I just stood there and gave her the steel eye until she shrugged like 'Fine, feed your dogs trash. I tried to help.' and FINALLY JUST RAN MY CARD.
Fantastic store. The staff especially their manager, Deborah, is extremely knowledgeable about pet nutrition. They have helped us become informed about our 3 dogs' diet and what they need to be healthy. They care about each customer who comes in. The groomers are caring and treat each pet as their own. LOVE this store. It is worth the drive and worth the price.
-The information on the bag 'doesn't really mean anything' because 23% protein in a Fromm formulation is 'more from meat' than 25% protein in TOTW. (eye roll. I'm a chemist. Please explain protein to me.)
All-around awesome pet store. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They also stock some high quality items you cannot find at the big box pet stores.
I thought I had a good experience previously, but basically I asked if they had BB, the (different than yesterday) woman working there steered me towards Fromm, told me it was the best, and I just bought it. 4 bags in, I'm not pleased with it and am seeking a better option, and their true colors come out. I doubt it was ever the better option for my large, active Colorado mountain climbing dogs, but it must be the better option for the store.
-Fromm is the best, and has the best ingredients.
Terrible experience. My new rewards program will be paying less for every bag of food I buy because I'm shopping somewhere else.
She claimed:
And the kicker, when I was just trying to buy my $100 of DOG FOOD, she stood there holding my credit card, woefully explaining that unfortunately, TOTW isn't part of their rewards program, and I had already bought 4 bags of Fromm, so it was in my best interest to buy another several bags of ridiculously overpriced dog food that my dogs don't particularly care for, so that one day I might get one for free. And TOTW 'isn't part of the rewards program'. I explained to her that for a $20 price difference per bag, TOTW was it's own rewards program, since basically by the time I get a 'free' bag of Fromm, I've already gotten another 2.6 bags of TOTW for the same amount of money. (eye roll. Please explain economics to me as well.)
Miss Deborah recognizes all her furry customers by name. She does on each one as if her own. The coolest thing we do not even need to be at her store, doggie events and other Kriser's we get the same love from her.
My boy, Trig, had the best grooming ever. I believe his groomer was Trina or maybe Katrina. She really did a terrific job. This was done at the Colorado Mills location.
-She doesn't really know anything about Taste Of The Wild because she asks the company reps about ingredients and nutrition information when they come in, but they 'don't really know anything about their own product'
-If my dogs weren't on Fromm, they were just passing most of their food right through without getting nutrition from it because 'dogs are carnivores' (?????)
Ugh. I never write google reviews unless some place is either exceptional or completely awful. I never thought I would write a review of a place that just sells me dog food. But wow... super ignorant, high pressure sales by people who only know enough about the subject matter to sucker people into the most expensive thing in the store.
While they do have a variety of healthy pet food, the 'knowledgeable' staff appears to only know how to steer you towards the most expensive product. I switched from Blue Buffalo to Fromm because this store is close to my home and they don't carry BB. Fromm is the absolute most expensive food in the store. I went in yesterday looking for a better option because not only does spending $70 on a bag of dog food seem a little ridiculous, but my dogs don't seem as healthy or energetic as they were on BB.
I settled on Taste Of The Wild after comparing the information on the bag. It has more protein and fat than the Fromm formulation. However, it felt like mud wrestling a pig to be able to just make my own decision because of how much the woman was trying to PUSH me back into buying the most expensive bag of dog food in the store.
First off, the store, products, cleanliness and staff are A+ all the way. I was impressed the moment I walked in. But the real reason for my review is my search for a cat groomer. I took my adult male Maine Coon for his first ever full buzz there today, and I could not be happier. The staff of groomers were extremely gentle and caring and did a tremendous job. For a place this nice, I also figured the pricing would transfer into high grooming fees, but it was very affordable. I was nervous to get my first cat "lion cut" after reading all of the horror story reviews of cat groomers online, but this experience put me at ease. Highly recommended!
-Even though TOTW has *more* crude protein and fat, it's an inferior dog food because Fromm gets more of those ingredients from meat.
