We arrived at the time we said we would for our rental. There was a couple in front of us that took forever, and we ended up not being helped until 5:10 (they close at 5). We ended up needing proof of bill payment for our rental because they wouldn't run a Visa bank card like a credit card, and while my dad sat on the side of the road pulling that up, I was told by a female worker that I should be thankful they were staying open late for me.
We reserved a car for a trip to California and drove an hour to this location from our home in Dillon, CO. David called me the day before to verify everything was good to go. We get there and they surprised us by saying we have to produce 2 paid utility bills in order to run our credit, which he said NOTHING about over the phone. So there we are, an hour from home and completely baffled. My girlfriend says "wow, that's pretty lame." To which David replies in his arrogant feminine voice "you're free to leave". What a terrible customer service experience. They offered nothing, no apology, and just said "it's our policy." I used to work for an Enterprise run company in the company's headquarter town of St.Louis and this was definitely NOT proper code of conduct from a trained Enterprise representative. Nothing against the company as a whole, but this location is a bruise to the entire corporation. We drove down to Budget on Colfax and spoke to Gil, who is a total professional and a pleasure to work with. He got us the car we should've gotten from Enterprise within an hour while we got lunch nearby. We got it for a great price and explained our utter dismay at this Enterprise and how messed up it was. He discounted our rate and got it to within a few dollars of the quote from our Enterprise reservation. Enterprise lost 2 customers for good due to this experience and Budget EARNED our business. Go with Budget or a different Enterprise location.
I'd give them zero stars if I could. Booked a cargo van rental at $50/day with unlimited mileage through the enterprise website. A female representative called me two days before our trip to let me know they couldn't honor the price of $50/day and that it would be $80/day with a 200 mile a day cap. When I voiced my displeasure and let her know we had a trip planned in two days she said, "that's why I'm giving you adequate notice". 2 days?! I still have the printed confirmation if they want to dispute this as well. This obviously is blatant false advertisement. Chipotle is being sued with a class action lawsuit for misrepresenting how many calories are in a burrito but this enterprise won't honor the price on their own website. When I told them about having hotel reservations already and used vacation time they told me there was nothing they could do. Horrible customer service. Fortunately the regular enterprise in Golden was made aware of the situation and they took care of us with a similar rental at a discounted rate to make up for this place.
The staff was SUPER friendly and made sure you were helped quickly. They treated me WAY better than the Ford Dealership did that sent me to this location by making sure my rental was covered by Ford when the Ford service tech was very unhelpful. I got a nice and clean car and would definitely use this rental location again.
I'm sorry, but when you arrive on time for your rental and are forced to wait by someone slow before you, you do not have to be "grateful" for still being helped. Will not rent from this place again. The only reason I did was because I am an enterprise rewards member and I always rent cars via enterprise. Uhaul was $15 cheaper and I'm sure had much better customer service.
